“The Spirit of Chavez Ravine is the idea of the car having a spirit and a life of its own. For us it is the spirit of the people who used to live up there in the Dodger-Elysian Park area. We want to showcase the history of LA and the culture,” said Jesus Abril. Representing this idea will be a 1939 Chevy Coupe soapbox, a classic low rider. “Los Angeles is so cool and being at Elysian Park on a Sunday, embodies what a Sunday afternoon was like for our culture, like cruising through the streets of LA, except in this case, racing down a hill,” said Jesus. They will be wearing zoot suits and hats that also represent the lowrider culture of the Chavez Ravine. This team is motivated to have fun and represent the Los Angeles Low Rider culture in a positive way.
